Nifty opened gap up at 11470 on Thursday and made a high and low of 11611 and 11466 respectively before closing positive at 11571.
Review/Outlook:
For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11500 and 11440 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11640 and 11710 levels.

Phoenix Mills Promoters are planning to sell 38 lakh shares, or 2.5 percent stake, in the company in via secondary placement, according to terms for the deal obtained by Bloomberg. The deal has option to upsize the offering to 55 lakh shares, or 3.6 percent stake in company. The offering floor price is set at Rs 665 per share. Lakshmi Vilas Bank said that Economic Offences Wing has registered FIR under "complaint for offences of cheating, criminal breach of trust by banker, criminal misappropriation and criminal conspiracy upon the Directors of the Board.” The FIR is based on a complaint filed by Religare Finvest pertaining to adjustment of their deposits to the dues of RHC Holding & Ranchem. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities in India has been buoyant from 2015 to 2019, with a steady pipeline of more than 3,600 deals with an aggregate value of more than $310 billion, according to a study. Large deals doubled in value between 2015 and 2016 to $23 billion and again doubled to $56 billion between 2017 and 2018. M&A activity recorded a 70 per cent growth in 2018, led by distressed deals enabled by the corporate insolvency resolution process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), it according to a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Bain & Co report. (BL). |
WhistleDrive, a business-to-business transportation services company, has raised Rs 72 crore in Series-B from the Chicago-based Colosseum Group, which invested Rs 5 crore in Series-A last year. (ET).

E-commerce players, including Amazon and Flipkart, can expect to generate sales of over $4.8 billion during this year's festive month (September 29-October 4), but the growth over last year will be subdued, according to research by Forrester. (BL). |
Bank credit and deposits grew at 10.26 per cent and 10.02 per cent to Rs 97.01 lakh crore and Rs 127.22 lakh crore, respectively, in the fortnight ended September 13, according to the recent RBI data. In the year-ago fortnight, banks advances were at Rs 87.98 lakh crore and Rs 115.63 lakh crore. In the previous fortnight ended August 30, 2019, bank loans increased by 10.24 per cent to Rs 96.80 lakh crore and deposits by 9.73 per cent to Rs 127.80 lakh crore. In July, the non-food bank credit increased by 11.4 per cent on year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, as compared with an growth of 10.6 per cent in July 2018. Advances to the services sector decelerated to 15.2 per cent in the month from 23 per cent in the year-ago period. Credit to agriculture & allied activities rose by 6.8 per cent as compared with an increase of 6.6 per cent in the same month last year. (ET). |

Asian shares were on course for a second straight week of losses on Friday as the release of a whistleblower complaint against U.S. President Donald Trump heightened uncertainties about the global economy, already reeling from Sino-U.S. trade war. Nikkei is currently trading at 21,858, down 190.52 points by 0.86%.
Precious Metals
Gold futures settled higher on Thursday, a day after a surge by the U.S. dollar prompted the precious metal to suffer its worst daily decline in nearly three weeks.
Base Metals
The three-month copper price on the London Metal Exchange had declined by the close of trading on Thursday September 26, below the $5,800-per-tonne resistance level while turnover was thin against an ascending US dollar index.
Crude Oil
Oil prices fell on Friday, erasing more of the gains realized after the Sept. 14 attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities, as the rapid return of production capacity from the world’s top exporter squashed risk premiums. |
