Trading Range:
Nifty opened gap up at 11950 on Tuesday and made a high and low of 11953 and 11845 respectively before closing negative at 11857.
Review/Outlook:
For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11790 and 11700 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11920 and 12000 levels.
Review/Outlook:
Bank Nifty opened gap up at 31386, made a high of 31413, low of 31126, and closed negative at 31160. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 31000 and 30800 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 31400 and 31600 levels. |

Airtel has launched Wi-Fi calling after testing it for months, but for now it will work only on Airtel Xstream Fiber and on select smartphones. The Wi-Fi calling is being rolled out for prepaid and postpaid subscribers across the country, according to Airtel here on Tuesday. "It is currently available in Delhi NCR and will be gradually rolled out across India," it said. (BL). |

The board of directors vide their resolution dated December 10, 2019, has approved the appointment of Himanshu Kapania as an additional (non-executive) director and vice-chairman of the company wef January 1, 2020, liable to retire by rotation. Just a week after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) maintained status quo on key rates in its bi-monthly monetary policy review, a slew of banks have announced reduction in loan rates. Tuesday evening, Union Bank of India announced that it has cut marginal cost of funds-based lending rates (MCLR) by 5-10 basis points (bps) across all tenors. After the cut, Union Bank of India's one year MCLR now stands at 8.2 percent, down from 8.25 percent. According to a press release issued by the bank, the new rates will be effective from 11 December, 2019. (BL). |

Japan’s markets watchdog said on Tuesday it has recommended that Nissan Motor Co Ltd be fined about 2.4 billion yen ($22 million) over the under-reporting of former chairman Carlos Ghosn’s compensation. The fine would cover the four financial years from April 2014 to March 2018, markets watchdog the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) said in a statement. (BL). |
About 46.21 per cent students were found employable or ready to take up jobs in 2019, compared with 33 per cent in 2014, and 47.38 per cent in 2018, according to the India Skills Report 2019-20. Meanwhile, female employability witnessed an upward trend at 47 per cent this year from 38 per cent in 2017 and 46 per cent in 2018. In more news, India currently has a total cold storage capacity of 226.7 lakh tonnes (lt) as against the required capacity of 350 lt. Of this, a capacity of 53.55 lt was created under different schemes since the NDA government took over in 2014-15, according to official sources. (ET).

The combined sales of three public sector Indian defence companies that figure among the world’s 100 top arms suppliers dropped by 6.9 per cent to stand at $5.9 billion in 2018 despite a rise in the global weapons sales, according to a new report published by a leading Swedish think tank. Sales of arms and military services by the sector’s largest 100 companies (excluding those in China) totalled $420 billion in 2018, marking an increase of 4.6 per cent compared with the previous year, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said on Monday. DJIA and NASDAQ Composite
US markets finished below the waterline after a choppy session on Tuesday as market participants remained glued to their screens for any hint of fresh developments in the ongoing US-China trade war. The Dow Jones Index closed at 27,882, down 27.88 points by 0.10%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 3,133, down 3.44 points by 0.11%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 8,616, down 5.64 points by 0.07%.
FTSE 100
UK markets dipped on Tuesday, but finished well off their worst levels of the session, with investor sentiment dented by weak UK economic growth figures and a degree of uncertainty over a potential US-China trade deal. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,214, down 20.14 points by 0.28%. |

Precious Metals
Gold prices settled higher Tuesday, with futures finding support in the wake of losses after the past two sessions, as traders eyed potential progress toward a U.S.-China trade deal and awaited the outcome of the two-day Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting.
Base Metals
Copper ended the Tuesday December 10 trading session on the London Metal Exchange at an intraday high and seven-month peak of $6,100 per tonne.
Crude Oil
Oil futures finished higher Tuesday, recovering from early losses, after a report from the Wall Street Journal was seen as upbeat in long-running negotiations between the U.S. and China on tariffs. |
